PH Bureau of Customs Statement on Publication of Import Data for January 2014

Saturday, 01 March 2014.

The Bureau of Customs is pleased to publish its list of almost every importation into the Philippines in January 2014. In addition to “consumption” entries as published last month for December 2013, this list now includes what we refer to as “warehousing” and “transshipment” entries. These are imports which are allowed to enter the Philippines without paying duties and taxes, provided they are re-exported from the Philippines within a certain period of time.

The list is in the same format as that published in January 2014 for December 2013. Each item on the list represents a specific quantity (measured by weight) of a specific item that was imported by a specific importer on a specific day. The list- 110,356 items in January 2014- is organized by major product groups, using the Harmonized Standard (HS) Code classification system. For each item, we include information such as a description of the item imported, its HS code number and standard HS code description, what country the item came from, its value, and the amount of duties and taxes collected on that item. There is an additional column which was not in the December 2013, which shows whether that import was for consumption, warehousing, or transshipment.

The data can be downloaded from the following link:

The list is in excel format. To allow faster downloading of a very large amount of data, the list has been divided into five separate files, with each file containing the data on import items within a range of HS codes. The files cannot be modified without hacking, but the data in them can be copied and pasted into a separate file for individual analysis and calculations.

As we requested last month, if members of the public have specific information about actual values of specific imports which are very different from what we are using, we hope that they will share that information with us in writing, by e-mail to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.. We would particularly appreciate it if you could cite a specific HS code and country of origin
